How to Find the Perfect Sizes for Your Sunglasses and Eyeglasses

Buying sunglasses or eyeglasses is always a great unknown. But how do you figure out the right size of a pair of glasses? Follow our advice.

Buying sunglasses or eyeglasses is always a great unknown, not only because of the shape or colors, but also because of the many existing calibers so much so that finding the right sizes for sunglasses or eyeglasses may seem like a daunting task, but with the right advice and tools, becomes child's play.

But how do you figure out the right size of a pair of glasses? Follow our advice.

If you already have a pair of glasses that fit you well, the process will be much easier because the measurements of the glasses are indicated on the inside of the temples or on the bridge, and include the length of the lenses, the width of the bridge, and the length of the temples. In that case, just take note of these numbers and use them as a reference for your next purchase.

If you don't have a pair of glasses to start with, don't worry!

There is an alternative and fun method to determine the perfect measurements for your face. Measure the size of your glasses using a card (such as a credit card or bank card) – it's a handy and simple way to get a rough idea of the measurements you need to find a pair of glasses that's right for you.

Here's how you can do it:

1. Bridge Width**: Place the tile in the center of your nose, where your glasses should rest. The width of the standard credit card is about 8.5 cm. If the tile covers the bridge of the nose perfectly, you have an average size (about 18-22 mm). If there is space on the sides, you need a narrower bridge, while if the tile does not completely cover the bridge, you need glasses with a wider bridge.

2. Frame Width**: Hold the tile horizontally and place it under the eyebrows and above the cheekbones. If the tile covers the distance between the temples, you probably have an average frame size (about 135-140 mm). If the card is too short, you need a wider frame, and if it's too long, a narrower one may be better.

3. Temple Length**: To check the length of the temples, place the tile from the front of the ear to the end of the frame. Standard rods are 135-145 mm. If the tile corresponds to this length, the temples of the glasses will probably be the right size for you. If the length of the tile is longer or shorter, adjust accordingly by choosing shorter or longer temples.

However, for a more precise measurement, it is always advisable to consult a professional optician.

Also, consider your face shape when choosing your eyewear design.

Round faces tend to be enhanced by square or rectangular frames, while square faces can benefit from rounded or oval frames. Oval faces, on the other hand, are lucky enough to be able to afford almost any type of frame.

Follow these simple tips and you will be able to find glasses that fit your face perfectly but above all that also reflect your personal style. Happy research!
